A BRIEF HISTORY

For almost ten years, Bob Fleming, the founder of Panzer Prints was employed as the Co-ordinator of the A F Budge Military Collection. The quest for rare and unusual AFVs required Bob to travel extensively throughout Europe, the Middle East and Australia. His efforts bore fruit and within five years, the Budge Collection had become the largest private military museum in the world with an outstanding variety of armoured vehicles, artillery and missiles in its inventory. Redundancy led Bob to build upon the contacts made during the previous decade and launch his own company, Panzer Prints.

Originally conceived as a vehicle to market his extensive collection of ARV related photographs, the company's first commercial venture was a visit to Russia to in September 1994. The trip, organised through the Moscow Technical University, was entitled, "The development of Armoured Forces in Russia" and consisted of lectures at the University plus visits to the Central Armed Forces Museum, Great Patriotic War Museum, the Kubinka Tank Museum and the Academy of Armoured Forces. Over the years, these visits expanded through the assistance of the Russian Ministry of Defence and the Central Armed Forces Museum to include other venues such as the Monino Aerospace Museum. As well as offering high quality colour photographs and prints to authors, museums, restorers and modellers, Panzer prints expanded into the production of high quality 1/35th and 1/76th decals.

A chance meeting with the renowned military author Uwe Feist, at the Auto+Technic Museum, Sinsheim, Germany, led to the idea of producing high quality books on various military subjects and as a result, Ryton Publications was born. Panzer Prints are now the European distributors for this highly popular series of titles.
